THK Actuator Products
THK's actuator products are designed to provide very accurate linear motion in a tight, compact package. By incorporating both the driving mechanism (belt or ball screw) and the guiding mechanism (LM Guide) into one unit, THK has reduced the costs of assembly by reducing the number of components that must be installed separately.
THK LM Actuator Guide
THK linear motion systems, are unique motion systems in which linear motion is supported by rolling contact elements. These linear motion systems can best be described as a motion system which uses the rotational motion principle of a deep grooved ball bearing. This principle makes it the easiest to use and most economical of all rotational motion bearings. Since the balls employed as rotating elements are set in raceways having an almost equal radius to the balls that rotate in them, the contact between the balls and the circular arc raceway is changed from conventional point contact to a line contact. This line contact system means that THK LM Guides can handle 13 times the work load and last 2,200 times longer than conventional linear guide ways (round shafts) of the same ball diameter.
THK Type KR (High-Accuracy) Actuators
The KR Actuator is composed of a one-piece outer rail surrounding an inner block. With a ball screw drive through the block’s center, and two linear motion guide raceways per each side of the block, the space-saving design provides extremely rigid and highly accurate actuator function and utilities. By employing the outer-rail structure design, which is unlike a conventional LM Guide design, the actuator’s rigidity against overhung loads and moment loads has been dramatically improved. The outer rail’s U-shape design, contributes to weight reduction while minimizing beam deflection. This allows the actuator to be used in a cantilever manner, as well as being supported only at both ends. The LM block’s ball rolling raceway geometry is of THK’s industry-proven, reliable circular arc design. The design allows for clearance eliminating preload to be applied with minimum increase in rolling friction, and it enables the system to provide highly rigid linear guiding with sub-micron feed accuracy. Pitching and yawing effect during linear motion is minimized by the design which locates the actuator’s screw drive center and linear guide center in a concentric relationship.
Parker Compumotor Zeta Series Motors
The ZETA Series NEMA 23 and NEMA 34 motors are 8-lead, standard construction motors. These motors are equipped with 10-foot cables and are compatible with S Series and ZETA Series Drives.
