In high-throughput, high-capacity applications such as drug screening or genomic sequencing, there is a requirement for highly accurate and precise 96 / 384 channel pipetting. The Multimek 96 / 384 are 96 / 384 channel pipettors featuring a six-position worksurface, high-precision pipetting, and the capability to pipette in both 96- or 384-well microplates. The Multimek 96 / 384 can be used as a stand-alone instrument or as part of a fully integrated automated Core System.
Since Multimeks are employed in high-capacity, high-throughput applications, there is a need for this instrument to pipette with a high degree of precision, both microplate-to-microplate as well as tip-to-tip within a microplate. Furthermore, the Multimek must be able to accomplish this with a variety of solutions and one particular organic solvent: dimethylsulfoxide (DMSO). In this technical bulletin, we shall describe the performance of a Multimek 96 equipped with a 200 µL pipette head over a pipetting range of 2.5 to 50 microliters (µL) using four standard solutions including DMSO.
