Description

This unit is a custom-built INO High-Power Wide-Band Erbium Source. INO manufactured this unit from a FAL-300 EDFA Chassis. It is a High-Power (28mW total output) Wide-Band (1525-1605 nm) Erbium source with an SC optical interface. It is very easy to operate - the 'Mode' button toggles between I and P modes (user sets the output in either current [mA] or power [mW]) and the 'Settings' button allows the current or power to be set from 0 to max. The unit is used, and in excellent like-new condition. Included accessories are: (1) key and power-cord. No manual is included, but there are only a two functions on the front panel to control (as described).

If you wish to use the GPIB or BNC interfaces on the rear of the unit, it would be good to source a manual from INO.

Our tehnician hooked this unit to our OSA and took a spectrum of the output. This is downloadable in the 'Links' section near the bottom of this page.

ASC Tech's Summary: This may not be the flattest-spectrum ASE on the market, but it is very powerful (28 mW), easy to operate, and manufactured by a reputable company. INO is well known for their High-Power EDFA amplifiers in the photonics market.
