The National Instruments PXI-1000B is a general-purpose, 8-slot chassis that meets measurement and automation application needs. This chassis incorporates all features defined by the PXI and CompactPCI specifications including a rugged, modular construction; integrated cooling; and high-performance backplane with integrated timing and triggering features. The PXI-1000B is a flexible, versatile platform with a high-output power supply and compact structural design.

The PXI-1000B mainframe's modular design ensures the highest level of maintainability resulting in a very low mean time to repair (MTTR). Other features include: advanced timing and synchronization; 300 W of usable power/150 W for DC-capable supply; removable modular power supply; universal AC input: auto-voltage and auto-frequency ranging; remote power status and inhibit via a rear panel connector; over-current protection via push-reset circuit breaker (no loose fuses to replace).
