This IPG Photonics EAD-40-C Erbium Doped Fiber Amplifier is used and in excellent condition. Rackmount ears installed. It has a rated +17 dBm output power and has FC/APC optical interfaces via fiber pigtails. This unit has a high spontaneous ASE emission.

Saturated Output Power: 16.5 dBm / 44.6 mW (peak)
Gain: 27.75 dB

The IPG Photonics EAD Series Erbium Doped Fiber Amplifier is a versatile single-channel C-band (1533 to 1570nm) and L-band (1560 to 1610nm) Erbium Doped Fiber Amplifier that is conveniently packaged for use in a laboratory environment. Amplification occurs via multimode diode pumping coupled into a multi-clad Yb-Er fiber. Everything is contained in one bench-top instrument including the EDFA with a choice of 40mW to 500mW saturated power output. The user-friendly front panel includes a monitor display, a keyed on/off switch, power control and fiber input/outputs. RS232 control is also provided on the rear panel. These universal devices operate in the temperature range of 0-50ºC and require 100/110/220V AC (50/60Hz). They can be employed for research and development in the fields of telecommunications, wireless communications, photonic switching, sensors, etc.
