Input signals from transducers, microprocessor controls, programmable logic controllers and other electronic control devices may produce grounded signals or signals which are at a different potential from those used in Bodine motor controls. The Model 3984 optical isolation board is designed to provide an interface that isolates the motor control signals from external electronic control signals, while still providing full use of Bodine control features. The Model 3984 is a scalable voltage following device that accepts a wide range of current and voltage analog speed input signals and delivers an isolated output speed signal of 0 to +10 VDC at 10 mA. A built-in sensor circuit monitors the polarity of the analog voltage speed input and changes the motor's direction of rotation when the signal goes from positive to negative.
