The GE Fanuc / VMIC VMIVME-5522V SGI-to-VMEbus Adapter Module is a fast, easy-to-use method of connecting a Silicon Graphics multiprocessor computer (CHALLENGE and Onyx series) to a standard 6U VMEbus. The VMIVME-5522V is user installable.

The VMIVME-5522V is composed of two adapter boards linked via a cable set. One adapter board mounts directly to the Silicon Graphics POWERchannel-2 board and the other adapter board resides in slot 1 of the VMEbus chassis.

Other features include an on-board DMA engine for fast transfer of data to or from system memory and D64 multiplexed transfer as a VMEbus slave. The adapter provides VMEbus system controller functions, multimaster compatibility, and a built-in VMEbus interrupt handler.

Applications include Real-Time Data Acquisition, Process Control, Simulation, Training, Laboratory Instrumentation, and Automatic Test Equipment (ATE) Systems.
