Curtiss-Wright / Systran SCRAMNet Series Modules are designed to provided the speed and deterministic performance of shared-memory while avoiding the data collisions and computer-to-computer latencies often caused by the complex, time-consuming layers of software and hardware protocols used in typical networking systems. Although standard networks may offer sufficient data transfer rates between boards for some realtime systems, they are unable to match the superior host-to-boardcommunication achieved by the SCRAMNet Network's shared-memory architecture.
In critical real-time systems, computer-to-computer data latency is dependent on two factors: network speed and, more importantly, data throughput between the host computer and the network node. The SCRAMNet Network's shared-memory speed and simplicity insure that communication at every computer is optimized for minimal data latency. It virtually guarantees that all computers in the system are operating simultaneously on the same set of data.
