Atlas Copco QCM2 Series Servo Controller

The Atlas Copco QCM2 Series Servo Controller is designed to be used as a part of the Enhanced miniMACS System. The QCM2 is a master unit, meaning that it features an internal power supply. The QCM2 goes through a series or processes called Tightening Cycles, through which the servo drive stores measured torque and angles values in its internal memory with a resolution of 1ms/sample. There are a total of ten LED indicators on the front of the Servo Unit, which are used to maintain clarity of the status of the unit.

On the QCM2, there is a digital I / O port that is designed for testing and commissioning. There are two modes available via this port: Operation Mode and Commissioning Mode. Operation Mode is considered to be the standard running mode for the QCM2 Servo unit. When using Operation Mode, the discrete I / O is disabled and replaced by the Lan1 signalling FBU Profibus interface. Commissioning Mode is selectable by setting digital input X7A:8 to logic one. When this process is completed, control over the Lan1 bus is disabled and the servo drive unit used discrete I / O signalling instead. Commissioning mode is only intended for use in low level testing and debugging purposes with reduced functionality.
