As the flagship in VMETRO’s range of bus analyzers, the PBT-615 is a PCI-X and PCI Bus Analyzer, Exerciser & Protocol Checker, that is designed for debugging, testing and validation of next-generation PCI-X/PCI boards and systems. The analyzer is able to capture and display all bus activity in PCI-X / PCI bus motherboards up to 100 MHz with powerful trigger and store qualifiers, and offers extensive statistics functions to measure system performance. At the same time, the built-in exerciser unit may act as a PCI-X or PCI master or target controlled through the user-interface or with a built-in script capability, for generation of bus traffic and emulation of not yet available devices. Furthermore, the built-in Protocol Checker automatically detects 71 PCI-X or 45 PCI protocol errors, and can operate concurrently with the state analyzer and the optional piggyback module (PTIMBAT500-PB) for 500 MHz Timing Analysis and Timing Violation detection. The unit is operated through USB or RS232 from a PC running Windows and VMETRO’s BusView™ graphical user interface, or via RS232 from an ASCII terminal or terminal emulator.
