Description
The Joerger Enterprises VBT CAMAC Visual Branch Terminator is a double width CAMAC module. The module provides a visual display of each branch cycle, in addition to terminating the branch highway. The model VBT is especially valuable in trouble shooting a branch system. In its "normal" mode of operation branch signal data is strobed into memory for display. This is done after the system has recognized that all active crates have responded (by bringing their BTB signals up) and the system acknowledges this by returning its BTA signal to logic "0". This is the same time that the system will accept its data and so the display will present visually the same data that has been accepted by the system during that cycle. This module then eliminates the problem of synchronizing on a scope branch data with BTA in order to determine their signal levels at that time and thus greatly simplifies trouble shooting on the branch. As an extra feature the module also has a "static" mode. This allows you to look directly at the branch signals bypassing the memory. This feature can also prove valuable during trouble shooting. The model VBT can also be an asset to an operating system as an indicator verifying branch cycles. Through the use of low power integrated circuits, power consumption is kept to a minimum.
