The General Standards PCI-HPDI32-PRINT Digital I/O Module is a PCI card designed to provide print control functions for eight individual print heads. These print functions include clocking data into each print head and a programmable fire pulse for each print head. The card will rely on external position/motion inputs (quadrature encoder A/B, Zfwd, Zrev) to determine when new data is loaded and the print heads are to be fired. The fire/load conditions, as well as the individual delay firing delays and widths, are fully programmable via software control. The PCI-HPDI32A-PRINT Board utilizes the position/motion inputs (Zfwd, Zrev, A, B) to start printing and control the head firing pulses. Printing can start or stop upon transitions of Zfwd, Zrev, or at specific position counter locations. The position counter will track motion via changes in the Quadrature encoder inputs A and B, and may be reset to zero upon transitions of the Zfwd and/or Zrev inputs.
