Engineering Technician - Full-Time, Part-Time, and Internship Positions Available

Artisan Technology Group is seeking candidates to fill full-time and internship openings for the Engineering Technician position and join our cutting-edge and highly-technical team in a goal-oriented, challenging, and intellectual atmosphere.

Our company's primary focus is the sales and support of high-end electronic test and measurement equipment for commercial, industrial, and military applications. The Engineering Technician is a full-time position designed for a technically oriented person with an electronics background who is proficient at testing and troubleshooting. This position will be exposed to wide variety of specialized electronic test and measurement equipment.

For our Engineering Technician Internships, the internship is developed for students to assist our engineers and technicians with short-term projects and offers exposure to a wide variety of specialized electronic equipment.

Job Description
The primary duties of the Engineering Technician will be to evaluate and repair incoming and outgoing equipment and to verify the accuracy of technical documentation.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Equipment Evaluation and Repair
  • Verify Technical Accuracy of Website Information
  • Refine Documented Test Procedures
  • Work with equipment vendors to obtain documentation, software, and technical information
  • Coordinating with team members and other internal departments of the organization
Knowledge/Experience/Skills:
  • Good problem-solving skills are required.
  • Excellent organization, communication, and computer skills are required.
  • Training is on-site and set to the pace and capability of the candidate.
  • Interaction and collaboration with other engineers and technicians within as well as outside the company is ongoing and encouraged.
  • Enrolled in a College or University working towards or graduate with an Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering Degree
  • Technical skills required - familiarity with the following
    • Capacitors, Resistors, Diodes, etc.
    • Soldering and Minor Circuit Board Work
Work is performed in our well-stocked technical lab and is primarily hands-on. Candidates must have or must be working towards receiving an electrical engineering or computer engineering degree.

Full-Time Position:

This position is Full-Time, 40 hours per week, standard workday, Monday through Friday at our facility in Champaign, IL. Starting wage range is $18.00 - $24.00 per hour and is commensurate with background, qualifications, and experience. Part-Time / Internship Position:

Part-Time position: 20-30 hours per week, standard workday, Monday through Friday. Wages commensurate with background, qualifications, and experience. Starting wage range is $15.00 - $22.00 per hour and is commensurate with background, qualifications, and experience.

Technology Content Specialist - Positions Available

Our company's primary focus is the sale and support of high-end electronic test and measurement equipment for commercial, industrial, and military applications.

Job Description
The primary duty of the Technology Content Specialists is to create, maintain, and populate website product page content (images, descriptions and specifications). This includes finding product information through internet searches, reading technical manuals and datasheets to identify product options and specifications, and using in-house web-based applications to present product information to customers.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Create, proof, and revise technical information on website
    • Perform online searches to find product information
    • Work with equipment vendors to obtain documentation and software
  • Take photographs of equipment for use on website
    • General equipment cleaning using household cleaners
Knowledge/Experience/Skills:
  • Analytical skills
  • Demonstrated attention to detail is required
  • Ability to work independently
  • Excellent email and written communication are required
  • Intermediate computer skills required - familiarity with the following :
    • Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, Outlook
    • Photo editing
    • Data entry using custom and web-based applications
    • Internet proficiency required

Customer Support Specialist - Full-Time Position Available

Artisan Technology Group has an outstanding opportunity for a dynamic Customer Support Specialist to join our cutting-edge and highly-technical team in a goal-oriented, challenging, and intellectual atmosphere.

Our company's primary focus is the sales and support of high-end electronic test and measurement equipment for commercial, industrial, and military applications. The primary focus of the Customer Support Specialist is to provide support for our sales, technical, administrative, and managament teams, which includes performing general office functions and interacting with all teams to maintain the smooth operation of the business unit.

Job Description
Principal Duties and Responsibilities of the Customer Support Specialist:
  • Provide quotations, estimates, and other sales information to customers
  • Answer customer telephone calls and emails and distribute to appropriate staff
  • Process customer orders and enter into database system
  • Update and maintain product internal and third party databases
  • Creates, proofs, revises, and edits written material as needed
  • Create promotional material for electronic and print distribution
  • Responsible for incoming fax and mail distribution
  • Work with equipment vendors to obtain pricing quotes
  • Identify, research, and resolve customer service issues
  • Generate customer follow-up email correspondence
  • Maintain and complete call logs and reports.
  • Recognize, document, and alert supervisor of trends in customer activity.
  • Identify and recommend process improvements.
  • Assists during month-end activities
  • Other duties as assigned
Knowledge/Experience/Skills:
  • Excellent communication skills are a must - Ability to effectively communicate by telephone and written word to make independent, sound judgments on many issues. There is a high level of mental/visual effort frequently required to perform regular duties.
