This E4853A Serial Cell Generator and Analyzer is used, and in excellent condition.

Opt 001: Provides one auxiliary output for each main output, E4844A module. This is an auxiliary output which provides control signals which are automatically linked to the cells of the main output of the same generator.
Opt 002: Provides a clock input for the serial cell analyzer to sample the recovered data bits with a clock provided by the device under test, E4845A. For a BER measurement of the selected cell segments, each analyzed data bit requires a matching clock edge.

As part of the E4859A Serial Cell Generator and Analyzer System, the E4853A serial cell generator/analyzer measures the bit-error performance of burst-mode cells coming from one of the generators. Both the generator and analyzer are synchronized through auto-adjust.
