The Thorlabs Profile PRO8 Series offers a menu driven, flexible platform to operate various kinds of cards with electrical or optical functionality for a wide variety of applications including Telecom. The PRO8000 and 8000-4 with up to 8 cards are ideally suited for the needs of large test setups with a high signal count. The PRO8000-4 meets high power and current demands. The PRO800 can hold up 2 modules. The cards are automatically identified and adapt the functions of the softkeys when selected.
The PRO8000 and PRO8000-4 chassis are interchangeable with cards with electrical output for laser diode current and temperature control and optical cards providing laser sources or optical switches. The electrical cards consist of cards for laser diode current control (LDC8000 series and MLC8000 series), cards for temperature control (TED8000 series), combination cards for laser diode current and temperature control (ITC8000 series) and cards for photodiode current measurement (PDA8000 series). The optical set comprises WDM8000 cards with DFB lasers for telecom DWDM applications and high channel count test setups, LS8000 cards with a variety of supplementary telecom lasers as e.g. 1310nm lasers, C8000 cards with lasers for metro and access applications and OSW8000 optical switch cards for optical routing applications.
