Description
This Thorlabs / Profile PAT9000 PDL Polarimeter is used, and in excellent condition. This instrument is ready-to-measure out of the box. A serial mouse and a PS/2 keyboard are included with the unit.

The PAT9000 system has been designed to provide highly accurate measurements of polarization related effects in fiber-optic, and free space, optical components and systems. It is capable of providing extensive measurement and analysis of polarization mode dispersion (PMD), determining polarization dependent loss (PDL) and gain (PDG). The PAT9000 system architecture is modular and flexible. It is designed around a mainframe system, powered by a Pentium class CPU running a Windows operating sytem, that accepts plug-in modules. This approach allows systems to be configured for specific applications.

Thorlabs has discontinued the production of the PAT9000B and the DGD Module. However, Thorlabs still supports the units. Contact Thorlabs for software upgrades and software packages. The latest software version is 7.1.1.

The Thorlabs PAT9000 PDL Polarimeter may still be available for purchase and support from Artisan Technology Group beyond End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).
