The 3488A Switch/Control Unit Mainframe brings versatile, GPIB programmable switching to tests requiring multi-channel measurements. The Agilent 3488A provides signal switching with the integrity and isolation needed for high-performance production test systems. It also offers a flexible, low-cost interconnection for automating experiments on the bench and for developing tests in the lab. The Agilent 3488A is designed to hold up to five of the following switch and control modules:

• 10-channel relay multiplexer
• 10-channel general purpose relay
• Dual 4-channel VHF switch
• 4 x 4 matrix switch
• 16-bit digital input/output
• Breadboard
• 3-channel 18 GHz switch
• 7-channel form-C relay
• 2-channel microwave switch
• 1.3 GHz 50 and 75 ohm multiplexer

The 3488A has been replaced by the 3499 Switch Family. The 3499A/B/C are software and firmware compatible with the 3488A, while adding a selection of 20 additional switch modules.

The cards that work in both the 3499A/B/C and the 3488A are:44470A, 44471A, 44472A, 44473A, 44474A, 44475A, 44476A, 44476B, 44477A, 44478A, 44478B.

The 3488A Keysight Switch/Control Unit Mainframe may still be available for purchase and support from Artisan Technology Group beyond End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).
