The Ametek / Elgar PDU 2000 Power Distribution Unit provides intelligent power management and communication interface between an uninterruptible power supply (UPS), a power conditioner, equipment loads and a host computer. The The Ametek / Elgar PDU 2000 Power Distribution Unit provides a means of power distribution from the UPS and power conditioner to eight loads supporting both manual and computer control of the load power.
Furthermore, microcontroller-based circuitry provides RS-232 communications with a computer for annunciation of the PDU mode of operation and alarm conditions, as well as monitoring the AC power that is applied to the loads. The PDU 2000 also serves as a serial data router, allowing communications between a computer and a UPS while only requiring one RS-232 port on the computer.
