The 2351/EMD Time Interval Analyzer provides high resolution with continuous time interval measurement. Its automatic features significantly reduce measurement set-up time and ease analysis of complex signals and pulse trains that previously took several instruments to perform. Improved accuracy is also achieved.
The Model 2351/EMD couples the continuous measurement, high-resolution performance of a Time Interval Analyzer with a patented, built-in, digital signal processing algorithm, providing rapid, accurate characterizations of swept, pulsed or CW signals. This algorithm offers the user a versatile tool for capturing the frequency modulation contained in these signals, graphically displaying the results versus time and providing the numerical results calculated from the algorithm.
Two Modes Optimize Data Output - The 2351/EMD offers two modes of analysis, Discrimination Mode and Swept Analysis Mode, that permit the user to specify the degree of signal processing required for the application. This allows go/no-go testing of devices or complete characterization of signals.
Discrimination Mode - In the Discrimination or CW mode, the signal under test is digitally discriminated and filtered. The resultant output can be graphed as a linear representation of the frequency modulation (as a function of time) of the input signal. In addition, the algorithm will automatically calculate the carrier frequency to be used by the algorithm as a reference. This is useful when analyzing FM drift or offset.
