The Sorvall RC-5C is the gold standard of reliability in super speed centrifuges. The RC-5C centrifuge drive system is equipped with a Universal/Drive motor, designed and manufactured by Sorvall, with automatic programmed acceleration and braking features. The motor armature is balanced to give quiet operation with minimum vibration over a full range of speeds. This feature extends the life of the bearings and brushes.

Features:
• Easy to operate, reach a maximum rotor speed and maintain the desired temperature without the use of a vacuum system
• The operator can set speed, time, and temperature in any order and can change parameters at any time during the run
• It has a door interlock which prevents the centrifuge door from opening when the rotor begins to accelerate
• Microprocessor control, uses thumb levers to control settings, LED display of operating parameters
• RCF mode for g force calculation
• Auto rate control setting for density gradient work
• Omega squared dt calculation for run to run reproducibility
• Automatic temperature calculation
