The Cobham / Aeroflex / IFR T-1401 TACAN Accessory Test Set provides a user-friendly test solution for TACAN receiver/transmitters. It offers a full range of TACAN bearing and DME simulation required to test and service air-to-air and ground-to-air airborne equipment in both normal and inverse modes. The control settings on the T-1401 front panel determine the mode of operation.
The Cobham T-1401 TACAN Generator may still be available for purchase and support from Artisan Technology Group beyond End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).

Functions
Generates TACAN (Tactical Air Navigation) test signals for calibration and verification of aircraft navigation receivers. Produces range and bearing reference signals compliant with TACAN standards, including distance measuring equipment (DME) pulse pairs and azimuth reference bursts. Features programmable channel selection across TACAN frequency bands, adjustable signal levels, and precision timing control. Interfaces with navigation test systems via RF coaxial connections and provides remote control capabilities through standard communication protocols for automated test environments.
