The FCA-5010 Fiber Channel Analyzer is a new bus analyzer tool for advanced Fibre Channel systems. A significant upgrade from Ancot's industry-leading FCA-5000 Analyzer, the new FCA-5010 incorporates greatly expanded trace memory and sophisticated filtering capability that increases the user's ability to monitor and record bus performance, and to quickly identify the source of performance and device problems.
The ANSI Fibre Channel standard is gaining wide acceptance as the choice for high-speed bus interconnections in advanced workstations and high-performance computer systems where transfer of large data files is a major performance consideration. Fiber Channel supports data transfer speeds up to 1 Gigabit per second over either copper wire or optical fiber media. With optical fibers, Fiber Channel systems can support 1Gb speeds for distances of up to 15 kilometers.
In addition to expanding the ability to record bus activity by a factor of four, the FCA-5010 Analyzer adds a flexible, powerful filtering capability to the FCA-5000 family's arsenal. The user can set a pattern to match, then choose to keep matching or non-matching frames. The user may set different patterns for each channel, and focus on the Fibre Channel layer he or she is most interested in observing. The filter can be setup in the lowest level (10B pattern in FC-1) as well as in the highest (FC-4).
With the FCA-5010, provides two analyzers in one product. By using a split-screen to display both incoming and outgoing channels simultaneously, the FCA-5010 shows the timing of each bus event and translates the information into recognizable commands for ease of understanding. In addition, each channel is capable of independent triggering.
