The AFL PowerStrip is a thermal fiber stripping system designed for fiber optic preparation and high-strength fusion splicing applications. The system automatically heats fiber coatings and buffers before controlled stripping, reducing fiber damage and improving preparation consistency compared to manual stripping methods. The design incorporates AFL's fiber holder clamping system and the proven blade/centering mechanism derived from the Schleuniger FiberStrip 7030 platform.
The PowerStrip is intended for production fiber preparation, fusion splicing operations, laboratory fiber processing, telecommunications manufacturing, and precision fiber handling applications. The integrated clamping and centering system minimizes direct fiber handling and improves repeatability during stripping operations.
The platform supports multiple blade and centralizer combinations, allowing configuration for a wide range of fiber coating and cladding sizes. Standard support includes 250 µm and 900 µm buffered fibers, with additional options available for specialty fiber diameters.

Thermal fiber stripping kit that removes protective coatings from optical fibers through controlled heating and mechanical stripping. Configurable for standard cladding of 125 µm (80 µm optional) and coating diameters of 250 µm and 900 µm (160 µm and 400 µm optional). Strips up to 35 mm length at 5 to 15 mm/s with heating time 1.5 to 13 s and heating temperature up to 140 C. Includes centralizers for 250, 500, and 900 µm, fiber holder clamp, power adapter, and essential tools for repeatable, clean processing.
