The PK3 Drive is a complete packaged full/half-step drive system offering high standards of performance for low-power applications. Front panel DIP switches allow the user to quickly program important control parameters including full/half-step modes, drive reset, energize, self test, and drive output current. LED indicators provide status and diagnostic information to the user.
The PK3 Drive features switch-selectable motor currents from 0.8 to 3.0 amps per phase. Motor/drive matching is not critical, as long as the motor meets the specified requirements.
The PK3 offers a built-in oscillator. This on-board clock allows the user to move the motor at slow (40 to 1,000 steps/sec) or high (400 to
10,000 steps/sec) speeds in forward or reverse directions. This jog feature is accessed by wiring switches directly into the 25-pin connector
on the drive. The combination of push buttons and a timer or limit switch can provide indexer-type functions in simple, low-accuracy feed-to-
length applications.
The PK3 Parker Full / Half-Step Drive may still be available for purchase and support from Artisan Technology Group beyond End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).
