Features:
- Single-Slot Card
- 32-bit RISC Processor
- 8 or 32 MB of DRAM
- 128 KB of FLASH EPROM
The L-3 / Vigra Sliver Sliver multimedia server provides the power of video, audio and graphics all on a single-slot VME board. The Vigra Sliver board is ideal for applications that require high performance graphics, integration of live video with graphics, and compression/decompression capabilities for storing data or moving it over a network. Vigra Sliver is modular and flexible in design, and can be configured to meet specific multimedia requirements. It is designed around an on-board 32-bit RISC processor, 8 or 32Mbytes of DRAM and 128 Kbytes of FLASH EPROM. There is a four channel UART which provides a PC or Sun keyboard interface, serial mouse port, and two RS232C serial ports. Sliver also has two separate accelerated frame buffers, each providing 2.5Mbytes of VRAM, two video accelerators, and two daughter board sites, each with system bus and video accelerator interfaces. The graphics accelerators provide very high speed 8-bit per pixel rendering into two orthogonal frame buffers. The video accelerators support smooth scaling (shrink and enlarge) of full frame resolution video windows.
The L-3 Vigra Sliver VMEbus Multimedia Server Module may still be available for purchase and support from Artisan Technology Group beyond End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).
