The Spanawave / Giga-tronics / Ascor 8000 Series Microwave Switching Systems are based on rugged electromechanical switches and microwave relays rated for use from DC to 40 GHz with low insertion loss and high isolation. Route signals under remote control to simplify and improve automated test systems.

The standard 8000 Series offers GPIB, USB and Ethernet LAN communication interfaces. A self-contained design, with built-in power supplies, interface controller board and relay drawer card up to 256 relay coils, makes it very easy to implement a microwave switch system. It is designed to host many combinations of microwave relay switches, terminated or non-terminated: SPDT, SP6T, SP8T or Transfer switches. With a standard SCPI command set, the control interface provides the 8000 Series with ease of operation and configurability.

Flexible and versatile design make the 8000 Series is ideal platform for custom applications. It is geared to control any or all of the various switch types on the front panel or host switching system internally.

The Spanawave / Giga-tronics / Ascor 8000 Series switches assemblies are supplied in standard light-weight enclosures and can be mounted in half rack or full rack from 2U to 7U height. Switches can be removed from the front of the unit which allows reduced mean time to repair.

The Giga-tronics Rackmounts for 8000 / 8000-001 Microwave Switching System may still be available for purchase and support from Artisan Technology Group beyond End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).
