Parker / Daedal 804-1926A Linear Position Stage Overview

Features:

  • Various Linear and Rotary Positioners
  • Low-Friction
  • Zero Backlash
  • High Accuracy
Daedal precision grade tables are designed for accurate motor driven linear positioning and motion control. They offer superior performance and satisfy precision grade specification, yet are priced comparably to commercial grade tables. The precision motion control stages have a low profile and accept Daedal half step, microstep and digital servo motors.

The servo motor tables are pre-engineered "plug and play" modules that combine slotless linear motor technology with performance matched mechanical elements to provide, high acceleration, high velocity, and quick settling, with accurate, highly repeatable positioning.

Daedal precision rotary stages are utilized whenever manually controlled rotation or precise angular positioning are needed. The primary components include: a stationary base; a pre-loaded angular contact main bearing; drive mechanism. and rotating top.

The Daedal 804-1926A Linear Position Stage may still be available for purchase and support from Artisan Technology Group beyond End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).

Parker / Daedal 804-1926A Linear Position Stage Description

Functions

A motorized, single-axis linear positioning stage providing high-precision translation for automation systems. It employs a precision-ground ball screw actuator and a square rail linear bearing guide. Driven by a NEMA-standard stepper or servo motor, it interfaces with external motion controllers via motor and sensor cabling. The carriage provides a mounting platform for payloads, while the base integrates into larger equipment for applications in optical inspection, laser processing, and automated assembly.

Platforms

Precision linear position stages designed for integration into manually or motor-driven electromechanical positioning systems, typically mounted on machine tool or test apparatus bases. Features include aluminum base and top with stainless steel ball bearing guides for low friction, high stiffness, and backlash-free linear motion. Interfaces include micrometer, fine screw, differential screw, or stepper motor drives for precise point-to-point positioning. Used in high-accuracy applications such as metrology, optical alignment, semiconductor manufacturing, and controlled automated assembly requiring straight line accuracy to 0.00008 in/in and load capacities around 25 lb.

Applications

Precision linear positioning of payloads along a single axis. Utilizes a recirculating ball bearing system for smooth motion, driven by a stepper or servo motor via a lead screw or ball screw. Integration with motion controllers via digital or analog interfaces. Commonly used in automation, inspection, and measurement systems, and for applications demanding high accuracy and repeatability.

Accessories

Requires compatible motor and drive controller. Features a single-axis linear position stage. Connectors: DB9 for motor; P/N 501-1976 for feedback.

Interfaces

Uses standard stepper motor mounting flange with NEMA 17 or NEMA 23 4-bolt pattern. Linear encoder interface available via 15-pin D-sub connector for position feedback. Limit switch connections through 6-pin terminal block supporting normally open/closed configurations. Home switch input via dedicated 2-pin connector. Drive screw accessible via standard coupling interface. Mounting base features M6 threaded holes on 25mm centers for optical table compatibility. Optional brake connection through 2-pin power connector rated 24VDC.

Specifications

Single-axis precision linear positioning stage featuring ball bearing guide system with integrated stepper motor drive. Designed for horizontal or vertical mounting configurations with travel range typically 25-100mm and positioning resolution down to 1 micrometer. Incorporates precision ground ball screw actuation mechanism with anti-backlash nut assembly. Compatible with encoder feedback systems for closed-loop position control. Standard mounting interface includes T-slot base plate and threaded mounting holes for fixture attachment. Operates with external motion controller providing step/direction signals, limit switch inputs, and home position sensing. Applications include automated assembly, precision measurement systems, optical alignment, semiconductor testing, and laboratory automation requiring repeatable linear motion control.
