The ViaSat / Efficient Channel Coding AHA4501 Astro Turbo Product Codec Evaluation Module (EVM) is an ISA evaluation board that allows configuration and performance evaluation of the AHA4501 Turbo Product Code Encoder / Decoder. The AHA4501 is a TPC ASIC that has been developed by Advanced Hardware Architectures (AHA) using ECC developing TPC technology. In the Astro EVM, the data source and sink can be provided by either the host PC or user equipment. For Bit Error Rate (BER) testing, digital noise can be added on the board.

The ViaSat AHA4501 Astro Turbo Product Codec Evaluation Module (EVM) may still be available for purchase and support from Artisan Technology Group beyond End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).
