The Kontron cPCI-MXP64GX is a peripheral processor that combines state-of-the-art CompactPCI® technology with an enhanced feature-set designed into a single slot 4HP form factor. Hot swappable and exceptionally reliable, the cPCI-MXP64GX is ideal for solution providers who deliver mission critical applications in both the data communications and telecommunications markets.
The cPCI-MXP64GX is built with an ultra high performance Intel® Pentium® III processor. Other performance enhancements include the integration of a 64-bit CPCI bus, a unique standalone circuitry which enables it to be independent of the system processor. The end result is a solution with superb performance, increased MTBF (Mean-Time-Between-Failure), and a very high density feature-set.
With greater market demand for higher denisty designs, the cPCI-MXP64GX significantly enhances clustered multiprocessing using Kontron’s IPTalky™ technology (IP on CompactPCI bus) for Windows® NT, VxWorks, pSOS and Linuxbased applications. It also provides dual Ethernet support for routing LAN traffic or for VoIP applications that require complete redundancy. Additional on-board features include Intelligent Platform Management Interface (IPMI) implemented using FPGA logic, one multiple mode parallel port (SPP, EPP, ECP), two serial ports, and a 64-bit AGP CRT SVGA controller with 2 MB video memory.
The cPCI-MXP64GX Kontron cPCI Processor Module may still be available for purchase and support from Artisan Technology Group beyond End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).
