The Dynamics Research VME-GEM III Versa Module Eurocard - GPS Embedded Module combines the latest proven military GPS receiver from Rockwell Collins Avionics and Communications Division (CACD) with VME technology developed by Dynamics Research Corporation (DRC) into a single 6U double-slot VMEbus product.

DRC has integrated the GEM III secure P-code embedded GPS receiver from Rockwell CACD with the DRC Universal Interface Board (UIB-VME) offering the latest in VME interface technology. This integrated product, VME-GEM, makes available to the GPS receiver community a fully qualified GPS receiver available in a VME interface. The VME-GEM III can operate aided by INS or Doppler or in stand-alone unaided mode. The primary data interface is the Dual Port RAM which in mapped over the VMEbus and provides data according to ICD-GPS-059. Standard Instrumentation Port (RS-232/RS-422) is also included with standardizing messages given by ICD-GPS-104.
