The GE Fanuc / SBS 4416-V Series are fully programmable PCM Simulator/Data Generators for the VME bus. It offers the capability of generating telemetry formats limited only by the on-board memory capacity (up to 1M words) at data rates up to 20 Mbps.
The Model 4416-V permits the creation of realistic PCM streams including formats with variable length words and MSB/LSB-first alignment (on a word-by-word basis). Complex PCM encoding schemes can be defined with multiple sub and super commutated formats. The Model 4416-VF can output convolutionally encoded data (rate 1/2, 1/3, K=7) and/or BPSK modulate the simulated data stream.
PCM data sequences with up to one million 32-bit words can be stored in the module's on-board format memory. The Model 4416-V includes an internal clock input to synchronize its output with other ground station elements for time correlated simulation.
Setup parameters for each function of the Model 4416-V are programmed via the VME bus. Readback (status) is available over the same bus in a pollable status word.
