The Dover Motion / NEAT provides programmable control of three stepping motors. They produce Step, Direction, and Enable signals for each axis. The NEAT 330-UP can function as a pre-programmed motion controller, or may be operated as an intelligent slave to a host computer via its RS-232 and GPIB communication ports.

The 330-UP Series multi-axis stepping motor controller is one component of a complete motion system. It controls and drives two to four stepping motors (depending on the specific model). Another system component will consist of the positioning stages themselves, which from an electrical standpoint consist of a stepping motor, a pair of limit switches, and possibly an encoder. In some systems, a host computer will also be present, although the NEAT 330-UP is capable of stand-alone, pre-programmed operation. Finally, a joystick can be connected to the NEAT 330-UP for manual analog control, and a variety of external customer-specific devices can be monitored and controlled by the programmable I/O lines of the NEAT 330-UP unit.

The Dover Motion 330-UP Programmable Motion Controller may still be available for purchase and support from Artisan Technology Group beyond End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).
