The platform combines a 15.6-inch projected capacitive touchscreen, fanless Intel Skylake computing architecture, rugged aluminum construction, and industrial connectivity into a compact enclosure intended for continuous operation in demanding environments. The front bezel is sealed to an IP65 rating for protection against dust and water ingress, while the fanless thermal design improves long-term reliability by eliminating moving cooling components.

The TM-5040-16 supports both Intel Celeron and Intel Core i5 processor options, DDR4 memory, SATA storage devices, dual Gigabit Ethernet ports, serial communications, USB connectivity, HDMI output, and optional wireless networking.
