The CRi RGB-MS Series Micro*Color Microscope Color Filters integrate an elegant 22 mm aperture tunable filter slider for the user's microscope with the user's
existing grayscale digital camera. Precise and quantitative red, green, and blue color images are captured when the slider is in
place. When the slider is retracted, grayscale data can be captured. It only takes a few seconds to switch from one mode to the
other, since there are no cumbersome filter wheels or separate glass filters to position.
The Micro*Color filter gives the user precise digital, true quantitative
color imaging in a system much more accurate than conventional
color cameras, and with the advantage of being able to effortlessly
switch between color and grayscale modes.
By taking each color plane in sequence and in perfect registration,
the Micro*Color captures the exact color information at each pixel
with no interpolation necessary. This effectively triples the
resolution in comparison with an ordinary "painted" pixel CCD
camera, where only one color is recorded per pixel. This also
avoids the color shading inherent in designs which use three
CCDs.
The CRi RGB-MS-C Micro*Color Microscope Color Filter Kit may still be available for purchase and support from Artisan Technology Group beyond End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).
