The GE Fanuc / Total Control Products / Cincinnati Electrosystems 9450 Series Protocol Converters are devices which, in conjunction with GE Fanuc / Total Control Products / Cincinnati Electrosystem's software products, translate the communication protocols of one manufacturer's devices to those of another manufacturer. Serial communication devices produced by GE Fanuc / Total Control Products / Cincinnati Electrosystems may be directly connected to the programming port or serial port of most PLCs. This eliminates the need for ASCII / BASIC modules or input/output cards for communication with operator interface devices.

The GE Fanuc / Total Control Products / Cincinnati Electrosystems 9450 Series Protocol Converters are available in two versions-9450SA and 9450SX. The 9450SA has 2 serial ports, 1 bidirectional parallel port and is equipped with 128K of memory. The 9450SX has 3 serial ports, 1 bidirectional parallel port, and 128K of memory. Each of these ports is optically isolated and software configurable. Transmit/Receive LEDs are provided for all serial ports. A 7-segment Status Codes Display posts current status and error conditions.

The Total Control Products 9450-SX-C Protocol Converter may still be available for purchase and support from Artisan Technology Group beyond End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).
