The Carter Classic Series Motors feature class F insulation, sealed ball bearings, dynamically balanced armatures, replaceable brushes, and universal, shunt, or PM DC motor types.

The features of the Classic Series AC/DC Universal Motors include: Speed varies inversely with load and directly with voltage changes. Starting torque approximately 300% of full load torque. Base, face or pump mount. 1/35 hp to 1/7 hp, 12 to 230 volt. Continuous duty, ventilated only. Intermittent duty, totally enclosed. Clockwise, counterclockwise or four lead reversible manufactured.

The features of the Classic Series DC Shunt or Permanent Magnet Motors include: The field strength of a shunt motor may be varied independently for greater control. Starting torque approximately 150% of full load torque. Base, face or pump mount 1/40 to 1/15 HP, 6 to 230 volt. Continuous duty, ventilated or totally enclosed. Intermittent duty, totally enclosed. Options include base or face mount.
