  • RS423, 422, and 485 Channel Selectable
The GE Fanuc / Radstone MPCC-1 Multiprotocol Communication Controller provides 4 serial channels, operating simultaneously, which can each support a data rate of up to 500 Kbits/sec, full duplex, in synchronous mode providing a combined total data throughput of 2 Mbits/sec with full on-board control of the data flow protocols. The MPCC-1 has an embedded processing subsystem to relieve the VMEbus host processor of all the low level tasks associated with the operation of the serial lines. Up to 1 Mbyte of 32 bit wide buffer RAM is dual-ported to the 68020 on-board processor and the VMEbus. A four channel counter/timer offers 16 bit support for a real time executive, protocol timing and watchdog functions.
