The Ophir SpotScan Optical Knife-Edge Profiler is for measuring the energy distribution of micron to submicron beam widths. It is designed to aid in the assembly, adjustment and qualification of optical systems with finely focused beams such as those found in optical memory systems. SpotScan allows you to view the energy distribution directly at the focus, junction or output of a diffraction limited beam as small as 0.3 micron diameter. Its ability to record exact beam values gives you a better understanding of the performance of your optical system, and continuously updated measurements (10 times every second) give you the means to adjust and control it. To characterize the spatial profile of small or finely focused beam waists, the SpotScan optical profiler employs a scanning aperture technique - the superior approach to sampling beam profiles from continuouswave sources.

The SpotScan Ophir Optical Knife-Edge Profiler may still be available for purchase and support from Artisan Technology Group beyond End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).
