  • Signal Buffering Extends the Maximum GPIB Cable Limit to 40m (Device Load Every 2m of Bus Cable)
The National Instruments GPIB-120A is a high-speed bus expander that connects 2 GPIB (IEEE 488) bus systems. This expander increases the maximum number of GPIB system devices from the IEEE 488.1 standard of 15 electrical device interface loads to 28. The GPIB-120A provides an electrically isolated interface to one or more devices making it useful in test and measurement systems. The GPIB-120A is software transparent and extends the GPIB by effectively doubling the 20 m cable limit.

The NI GPIB-120A GPIB BUS Expander/Isolator may still be available for purchase and support from Artisan Technology Group beyond End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).
