Combined with a CompactPCI or VME CPU carrier board, the PPC/PMC-8260/DS1 is an ideal platform for applications in areas such as Wireless Infrastructure, Unified Messaging Servers, Enterprise Computer Telephony, Intelligent Peripherals, and Advanced Intelligent Network.
To reduce your software development efforts when enabling communication with a telecommunication management network, Motorola offers MTP-2, LAPD, Frame Relay protocol stacks for the operating systems Solaris, VxWorks and Linux.
Revision 1.3 of the PPC/PMC-8260/DS1 provides the following improvements compared to Revision 1.2:
• New HiP4 derivate of PowerQUICC II is used which provides an increased core frequency of 300 MHz and an increased Communication Processor Module (CPM) frequency of 200 MHz.
• New bridge: PowerSPAN II (CA91L8260B) with a 32-/64-Bit, 33-/66-MHz PCI interface
• Additional on-board 8 kHz clock source is connected to the T8105. Now, switching from a line recovered clock source to another clock source, i.e. this 8 kHz clock, is possible.
• Increased SDRAM capacity of 64 MByte
