Emerson / Control Techniques MaxAx 100 Variable Speed Drive Overview
Features:
- Controls Permanent-Magent Brushless Motors
- (3) Versions Cover a Range of Power Ratings
- Powered from Nominal 220V Three-Phase Bus
- Front Panel Signal Connectors
- Opto-Isolated Signal Circuits
The Drive takes power from nominal 220V three-phase bus which can be obtained directly or through an isolating transformer. The Drive can be powered from a single-phase supply if a derating factor is acceptable. The output of the Drive is connected to a motor and its resolver. The output is controlled by a IGBT power bridge. An internal braking resistor dissipates motor energy during regeneration. To simplify wiring (especially useful in multi-axis applications) power and signal connectors are located on the front panel.
In addition to the signal connectors on the front panel, a connector on the bottom of the Drive allows connection to back-up encoder simulation circuits. The signal circuits are opto-isolated from the power circuits.
The Control Techniques MaxAx 100 Variable Speed Drive may still be available for purchase and support from Artisan Technology Group beyond End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).

What Customers Are Saying

Artisan isn’t just a supplier with inventory. Their engineers helped diagnose a problem over the phone that would have taken us weeks to figure out!
- Arvind P.
We have some test equipment in our lab from the 1990's that stopped working about 2 years ago. It sat in the corner collecting dust, but we took on a project last month that required more machines. After talking to Artisan, we found out we could get parts to fix our machine for much less than buying a new one!
