348960 Wheaton Modular Cell Production Roller Culture Apparatus

The Wheaton Modular Roller Apparatus allows large-scale propagation of monolayer cell cultures in standard glass and plastic roller bottles. Extra decks can be added to existing units as modular requirements expand - up to 9 decks total. The Wheaton Modular Roller Apparatus uses a powerful DC gear motor and can accommodate bottles 108-121 mm in diameter and up to 550 mm in length, with a bottle speed range of 0.25 to 5.3 rpm assuming 110 mm bottles.

If short roller bottles are utilized, twice as many bottles may be placed on the apparatus. To provide ease of operation, all controls are conveniently located on the front panel. A locking speed control prevents accidental changes in drive speed, while a reference meter permits replication of speed settings.

Wheaton Science Products Roller Apparatus enables you to easily scale-up anchorage-dependent cell lines from standard plastic flasks. Benefits of the Roller Bottles are the increased surface area, gentle agitation and improved gas exchange when cells are rotated out of the medium. All models are CE/UL/CSA marked for international use and are available with different electrical plug configurations. Economy bench models allow inexpensive entry into this technology with units rotating from one to eight bottles.

For vaccine production or when high yield is needed, use the Wheaton Modular Cell Production Apparatus and add decks that will hold additional bottles, as needs increase. The Cost Buster High-Volume Production Roller Apparatus offers compact, efficient rotating of 104 and 172 bottles, based on standard plastic roller bottle with surface area of 850cm2.

The Wheaton CART System (Computer-Aided Roller Technology) precisely controls rotating speeds of up to 255 separate roller units. Each unit is monitored for rotation, speed deviation and communication. This system provides the perfect solution for GMP or FDA requirements. Wheaton specializes in providing customized roller systems. Special motors can be selected to rotate bottles from 58 revolutions per day to more than 100 revolutions per minute.

It accepts bottles from 108 to 121 mm in diameter and up to 550 mm in length. The system consists of a base drive unit and five-position roller deck to which additional roller decks can be added. A powerful DC motor, with soft-start speed control, drives the bottles through a series of durable non-slip belts. The all-position drive model is a positive traction drive system for lightweight plastic bottles in which each roller is individually driven. The all-position drive option may be field-retrofitted (see 348940 series) or factory-installed (see 348960 series). Also included is a locking speed control knob that prevents accidental change in rotation rates. The Modular Cell Production Apparatus is supplied without vessels. Warning: Not to be used in temperatures exceeding 40°C.
