FP-5300 OMEGA Paddlewheel Flow Sensor

The OMEGA FP-5100 / FP-5300 Series Paddlewheel Flow Sensors measure rate of flow of a liquid in a pipe. The flow sensor has a rugged design with no measurable head loss. It is readily removable for inspection and cleaning.

The flow sensor must be installed in an OMEGA installation fitting for proper operation. A plug is supplied with each pipe fitting to seal the fitting when the flow sensor is removed. The fluid-tight flow sensor seal is made with two standard Viton O-Ring which may be easily replaced. Housing extensions for the flow sensor are made from CPVC (chlorinated polyvinyl chloride). The paddlewheel contains four permanent magnets sonically welded into a PVDF paddle.

The Series FP-5300 Flow Sensor is an electro-mechanical volumetric flow transducer which generates a sine-wave output with a frequency and amplitude linearly proportional magnets past a coil, inducing an AC voltage proportional to this rotation rate. The frequency output is two cycles per rotation. OMEGA's unique open-cell rotor design eliminates cavitation at flow rates up to 50 FPS for providing and maintain superior linearity. Closed or solid rotor designs will cavitate at these velocities, creating a non-linear and none-repeatable signal.

The FP-5300 is designed for operation in 1/2 inch through 4 inch pipes, where flow is filly developed. In 6 to 8 inch pipes, the containing particulate matter uop to 1% of volume.

The Series FP-5100 PVDF Flow Sensing System provides a simple, reliable method for measuring ultra-pure and highly corrosive liquids. The sensor has the same performance specifications as the standard model FP-5300.

The FP05100 Series Sensor and their PVDF "Tee" fittings are easily adapted to existing pipes. These senors a re designed for pipe sizes from .5 inches to 8 inches. There are no dyes or stabilizers in PVDF that can leach or enter the proves fluids. These systems maintain fluid purity, and ensure safe monitoring and control of critical fluid flows. PVDF is the preferred material because of its inert properties and long life usage.
