06 DLD 201 Melles Griot Diode Laser Driver

The Melles Griot 06 DLD 201 Diode Laser Driver is a low-noise, stable current source with performance equivalent to more expensive units. Diode lasers can be operated in currentand power-stabilized modes and modulated to 100 kHz. Diode laser operating current as well as photocurrent level can be preset prior to laser turn-on for maximum user convenience.

In the current-stabilized mode, laser operating current can be set from 1 mA to 200 mA, with 100 µA resolution. The power-stabilized mode features two gain settings: photo-low and photo-high. For most visible and near-infrared diode lasers, the photo-low setting, with its input current range of from 1 µA to 2 mA and 1 µA display and adjustment resolution, offers extremely accurate output power control. The photo-high gain setting accepts photocurrents from 10 µA to 10 mA with 10 µA display/adjustment resolution.

Analog modulation of the diode laser drive current or the output power is obtained by applying an external signal to the modulation input BNC connector. In the current-stabilized mode, the modulation bandwidth is always greater than 100 kHz. The power-modulation bandwidth depends on the type of diode laser being used, but it is typically 100 kHz.

For diode protection, the Melles Griot 06 DLD 201 provides an adjustable current limit that can be set anywhere over the unit's 200 mA current sourcing range. Once set, the current cannot surpass this level.
