- Dedicated Communication Interface to the RACE++ Switch Fabric for Every Processor
Vantage RT systems deliver scalable multiprocessing in a PCI chassis. Scalable multiprocessing requires the ability to increase or decrease both the number of processors and the bandwidth of the interconnection between them. Vantage RT systems provide a dedicated communication interface to the RACE++ switch fabric for every processor. As more processors are added, more links are added to the switch fabric. In this way, Vantage RT systems start from 2 processors connected by a single 267 MB/s RACE++ data path and scale up to 32 processors connected by 16 RACE++ data paths through the switch fabric for an aggregate bandwidth of 4.2 GB/s.
The Mercury Computer Systems Vantage RT 7400 RACE++ PCI Module may still be available for purchase and support from Artisan Technology Group beyond End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).
