FOM-7900B The Newport / ILX Lightwave FOM-7900B System meets the demands of high channel count fiber optic testing. The FOM-7900B System Mainframe provides the capability to synchronously modulate up to 200 fiber optic source modules. To further simplify system integration, we provide input and output modulation ports. For fast, automated testing, the FOM-7900B has a GPIB/IEEE -488.2 interface and LabVIEW instrument drivers. The FOM-7900B is a high-performance fiber-optic test and development platform that consists of an 8-bay instrument mainframe and supporting plug-in module -all controlled by an intuitive, user-friendly interface.
This system provides a cost-effective solution for WDM and CWDM test applications including EDFA, SOA, and fiber optic component characterization. For higher density WDM system requirements, up to 24 additional 7900B mainframes can be linked together for a total of 200 channels, all controlled from a single GPIB address.
The FOM-7900B is a high-performance fiber-optic test and development platform with eight channels supporting plug-in laser source, power meter, and fiber optic switch modules. The sources come in various wavelengths from 1475-1625nm including service channels at 1310, 1480, 1510, and 1625nm. Each channel can be tuned over a 1.7nm range with 0.001nm resolution.

When installed in the FOM-7900B Fiber Optic System Mainframe, the FOS-79800D and FOS-79800E Series WDM DFB Fiber Optic Source Modules are easily controlled through simple front panel menu entries, or through a full featured GPIB remote interface. Mainframe trigger capabilities allow you to easily synchronize output modulation of multiple modules.
FOS-79710 The ILX Lightwave FOS-79710 Fiber Optic Switch Module is designed for high return loss, low insertion loss, and excellent stability. Transparent to signal formats and bandwidths, this optically passive fiber optic switch is bi-directional in operation and offers a choice of timed, random, sequential or triggered switching modes.
