Amphenol / PCB Piezotronics 482A Line-Operated Power Unit for ICP Transducer Systems Overview
Features:
- Constant Current Excitation
- Fault Monitoring for Each Channel
- Current Range From 2 to 20 mA
These units provide constant current excitation to the built-in transducer (or in-line adaptor amplifiers) and decouple the signal from the DC bias voltage.
The units also contain provision for fault monitoring each channel, as well as provision for varying the constant current output over the range of 2 to 20 mA. Factory set at 4 mA.
The Amphenol / PCB Piezotrontics 482A Series Line-Operated Power Units contain a well regulated 24 VDC power supply and one (or 4) constant current circuit(s) to provide power for one (or 4) transduction channel(s). The power units are identical except for the number of channels.
The rear panels contain (10) to (32) micro jacks for transducer connection ("XDCR") and BNC jacks for signal output ("SCOPE") connection.
The signal information is decoupled from the transducer bias level by a 10µF tantalum coupling capacitor and brought out to the "output" jack.
The bias monitor consists of a color coded front panel voltmeter and, in the 4-channel version only, a 4-position selector switch. The switch selects the bias voltage at each channel and displays it on the front panel meter. The meter in the single channel version permanently monitors the transducer bias level.
