The Exfo / NetTest / Photonetics FIBERWHITE E is a complete line of Broadband sources based on Amplified Spontaneous Emission (ASE) in Erbium doped fiber. Four versions are available featuring different wavelength ranges and spectral-shaping characteristics: FIBERWHITE-SP maximises the spectral width and the power while FIBERWHITE-IN offers near-gaussian spectrum in the C-band. FIBERWHITE-L is dedicated to the L-band. FIBERWHITE SPL is a dual-band source for spectral measurements in the C+L band.

All versions are optimized for maximum output power and stability. Due to the nature of the source, their outputs are intrinsically unpolarized. The output isolator ensures stable operation even when there is a high-level of reflection.

FIBERWHITE-SP is a general-purpose high-power broadband source with a spectral width exceeding 45 nm in the 1550 nm window. The remarkable output power, in excess of +15 dBm, combined with the excellent power stability enable high-accuracy spectral measurements over a large dynamic range.

The Photonetics 3627 IN Superluminescent Erbium Doped Fiber Source may still be available for purchase and support from Artisan Technology Group beyond End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).
