The General Micro Systems Angelo Video AGP Ultra High Video Graphics PMC Module takes advantage of the Intel 440BX AGP port, which is designed as a secondary PCI bus that operates at 66MHz, instead of the standard PCI-bus, which operates at 33MHz.

This AGP bus is connected to the PMC module via Jx and Jy of the PMC module. These connectors, as specified in IEEE1386.1, are user-configurable, and may be used for such applications. Since these two connectors are exactly the same as J1 and J2, which carry the PCI signals, the pin-outs of the connectors match exactly. This second PCI-bus acts as a turbo-charged PCI-bus for a high speed, high throughput data port, such as video traffic. Besides the speed advantage gained by utilizing the AGP bus, the bottleneck on the main PCI-bus is also eliminated, creating a fast multi-port PCI system.
