Seagull Mango DSP DSP PMC Module

The Mango DSP Seagull DSP PMC Module is a powerful PMC platform that can fit onto any standard or PMC site. Designed with 4 TI C6415 DSP Processors, the Mango Seagull constitutes a compelling video processing and imaging solution. Combining multiple video I/O and DSP processing, the Seagull offers a programmable solution for even the most demanding video and imaging applications. Ease of design is further enhanced with the ready-for-use Mango video libraries such as the JPEG Encoding and MPEG-4 libraries. These video libraries include a comprehensive set of video compression encoders and decoders as well as many imaging functions. This architecture allows for high-speed user interfaces to be implemented with data transfers controlled via the FPGA. Furthermore, the FPGA functions as a co-processor to enhance the capability of video data manipulation.

The Seagull interfaces with analog and digital video inputs via external connectors. Each DSP connects to the FPGA via a 133 MHz 16 bit high speed bus. This tightly coupled architecture allows the FPGA to act as an Input Control Mechanism and as a co-processor. The DSP's 32 bit 33 MHz PCI allows for standard inter DSP and Host connectivity. Each DSP has a 64 bit 133 MHz bus that connects to the 32 MBit of SDRAM and an additional 133 MHz 16 bit bus that connects to the Flash memory and the FPGA. A direct FPGA connection is provided via the 200-pin user connector.
